Dempster Highway, YT, CA
Verified by agency

Tombstone Mountain Campground has scenic views from every campsite. Located along the Dempster Highway in a mix of spruce forest and tundra, this campground is a popular destination for Yukoners and tourists, or as a rest stop for travellers en route to the Arctic Ocean in Tuktoyaktuk, NT. In addition to the RV campsites, there are 3 group camping sites and several walk-in tenting sites. A short foot trail connects the campground to the Tombstone Interpretive Centre (open seven days per week from mid-May to late-September), which offers free interpretive walks, talks and special events. Several hiking trails begin at or near the campground. A one-kilometre, wheelchair-accessible interpretive trail leads from the centre to a beaver pond. Another trail loops from the campground, introducing you to the sub-arctic tundra. A third trail continues along the banks of the North Klondike River (Tr’ondëk*).
