Missinaibi Lake offers endless exploration opportunities, including; world-class fishing, three pictograph sites, an old Hudson’s Bay Company trading post and an abandoned logging camp. Campground: The Barclay Bay Campground has 36 campsites, each with a fire-ring, and picnic table. There are vault privies and potable water, as well as an extensive dock system, boat launch and fish cleaning house to accommodate our visiting anglers. Interior: Missinaibi Lake, the centrepiece of the park, offers 20 backcountry campsites, accessible only by boat, canoe or kayak. These sites also offer some amenities; picnic tables and fire-rings can be found on these remote sites, along with level tent pads. The magnificent Missinaibi River flows northward from Missinaibi Lake, 426 kms to Moose River and finally into James Bay. This river is one of the longest protected, unimpeded wilderness waterways in Canada, offering canoeists challenging white water, incredible scenery and abundant wildlife viewing opportunities. The Missinaibi River is remote and challenging and is recommended for experienced canoeist only. There are designated campsites along the river and portages around most rapids.
