Lime Island State Recreation Area is approximately a 980 acre island located in the St. Mary's River at the eastern end of the Upper Peninsula. The island was historically used as a refueling stop for freighters transiting the river system. Park visitors may enjoy watching freighters from the rental cottages that sit atop the bluff overlooking the St. Mary's River, hike the trails, camp on the available campsites or enjoy a day of fishing.
