Charleston Lake offers day use, car camping, roofed accommodation, and backcountry camping opportunities. Bayside and Shady Ridge Campgrounds are located adjacent to Charleston Lake in a mature, wooded setting. The Meadowlands Campground is located in a younger forest with some partially open sites for those sun seekers. Each campground has a mixture of electrical and non-electrical sites and can accommodate camping equipment ranging from a tent to a large RV. Hiking trail, a Nature Centre, day use area, and Amphitheatre are only a short walk away. The park features two beaches, picnic areas, a playground, and a boat launch with docking. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy five interpretive trails, the 10 km Tallow Rock Bay backcountry trail, and the Blue Mountain Trail. Popular activities include hiking, fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking (rentals available), and birding. Our yurts, located in the Shady Ridge Campground near the beach, sleep up to six people. The Tall Pines Cabin, situated on the eastern shore of Charleston Lake, offers a unique waterfront getaway and is only accessible by water—visitors must provide their own transportation.
